Graphic Design Coordinator

Full-Time, 37.5 hours/week, occasional evenings and weekends

Excellent opportunity for a creative and talented Graphic Designer with Adobe Suite CS6 (PC) and/or Adobe Creative Cloud experience. Prepares all print publicity materials which includes the creation of posters, flyers, and brochures. Designs and formats the Library’s 16-page Chapter One quarterly newsletter. Designs the graphics for special projects which include the Summer Reading Club and Winter Reading Club. May assist in training patrons and staff members about graphic design.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree, with a BFA or major in Graphic Design preferred. At least 3 years of experience in graphic and newsletter design. Previous graphic design in a non-profit environment preferred, but not required. Photography and basic video production experience a plus. Must be detail-oriented, able to troubleshoot, and meet tight deadlines.

Salary Range: $14-$20/hour depending on qualifications

Webmaster

Part-Time, 15-25 hours/week, occasional evenings and weekends

Excellent opportunity for a tech-savvy individual with web design and content management experience. Executes and coordinates all updates on the Library’s responsive Drupal website. Maintains functionality of Library’s Buzz Blog (WordPress) and online catalog. Collaborates with IT department and current website developer (Mightybytes) on special projects. Analyzes website metrics monthly using Google Analytics. May assist in training patrons and staff members about web design.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree, with a major in Web Development/Design, Programming, or Digital Marketing preferred. At least 3 years of website development/design experience. Working knowledge of responsive web design, HTML, CSS preferred. Previous web design experience in a non-profit environment preferred, but not required. Photography and basic video production experience a plus. Entry level writing and intermediate graphic design skills preferred. Must be detail-oriented, able to troubleshoot, and meet tight deadlines.

Salary Range: $14-$20/hour depending on qualifications

Kids/Teen Librarian

Part-Time: 12-20 hours/week (Evenings and Weekends)

Do you like working with kids & teens? Are you passionate about children’s and teen literature? Are you comfortable enough with e-resources and technology to help patrons? Are you happiest in a noisy, active environment? Are you comfortable adapting to change? Do you play well with others?

If this describes you, join our hard-working, fun-loving, collaborative team. You will offer top-notch customer service at the desks in KidSpace and Teen Underground. You will be encouraged to be creative and share ideas, and you’ll have many opportunities to work on additional projects, including programs, collection development, our award-winning Summer Reading Club and our new maker space in development, “Wonder Ground.”

Requirements: MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited school. Experience working with children and teens. Excellent customer service, communication and technology skills. Ability to multi-task and be flexible in a busy environment.

Salary range: $20-$26.50 per hour

Two Positions Available:

(1) Tues-Thurs 5-9 PM, Sat 8:30 AM-1:30 PM (17 hrs/wk)

(2) Mon 5-9 PM, Wed 5-9 PM, Fri 11 AM-7 PM, Sat 1:30-5 PM (20 hrs/wk)

Position involving the responsibility retrieving items from sorter; sorting materials in alpha and numeric order. Will be trained to shelve in all areas of the library. Regularly shelf-read assigned sections. Shifting when necessary. Empty indoor book bins; other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Must be 16 years of age. Must be able to move a fully loaded book truck and shelve individual volumes onto shelves from floor level to almost 6 feet high. $8.33/hr.
