Digital Services Assistant
Part-Time, 10-15 hours/week, must have evening and weekend availability
Position Summary: We are looking for a friendly, innovative and organized individual to join our Digital Services team. You must be interested in and knowledgeable about technology including computers, mobile devices, social media, and online resources. The successful candidate will have excellent customer services skills and be able to pleasantly work with people of all ages. The Digital Services Assistant needs to be able to work well within a team and be adaptable to change. This position will staff a busy technology desk and help patrons with everything from setting up an email account to sending a fax. You will also provide assistance using recording, editing and digitization tools in our newly opened digital media space, The Creative Studio. This position may also assist with technology programs, open labs, and classes if needed. This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree and previous experience in a customer service environment preferred.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate and work effectively (both individually and as a team member) with the public and all levels of Library staff with tact and diplomacy.
- Strong knowledge of computers, Internet and Microsoft Office products.
- Familiarity with electronics such as e-readers and tablets preferred.
- Enthusiasm for learning new technology skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot technology issues calmly, patiently, and effectively.
Salary: $14.44-$18/depending on qualifications
