Homework Help

The Niles Public Library is hosting area high school students to offer a little homework help Monday nights. Enthusiastic teens will be available to help your K-5 students work on their weekly homework assignments.

¡Viva! Dream and Drum

Drum yourself awake and enjoy Mexican hot chocolate while listening to Margarita Engle’s beautiful book, Drum, Dream, Girl. Then make and take your own drum! Especially for kids aged 4-7 and their families.
This program is part of ¡Viva! Coming Together in Skokie and Niles Township, focusing on Latino heritage.

Spring Block Party

Discover "How to Plan a Niles Neighborhood Block Party" this summer while your family plays fun games, enjoys refreshments, and more. Also, meet with community organizations that can help you make your block party a memorable one. All ages welcome.

Reading with Rover

Does your child need to build confidence when reading out loud? Our friendly dogs are great listeners, always positive and always fun to cuddle with! Grades K and up (beginning to advanced readers, in room without parents). Call 847-663-6622 or drop by to sign up for a 20 minute slot. Priority will be given to Niles Public Library cardholders; siblings will be given 20 minutes slots only if there is no waiting list, otherwise they will share a slot. Wonder Ground Open Lab

Grades K-4 are welcome to look, touch, tinker, and play with an intriguing array of science-oriented curiosities in this new space designed especially for kids. A drop-in visit is meant to last about 15 minutes. Activities are repeated each week from Tuesday to Thursday. The Wonder Ground is a STEAM playground for kids.
