3D print submissions are completed on either the Bambu X1-C which has a build volume of 10 x 10 x 10 inches, or the Bambu A1 which has a build volume of 10 x 10 x 10 inches.
Scaling, infill, and supports are the only settings our staff can change. If there are any other changes, you must edit your file and re-submit. If supports are used, you are responsible for removing the supports from your completed 3D print.
3D prints cost $.10 per gram. 3D prints will be limited to 12 hours per job. To see how long your print will take, download the free BambuStudio software to check the printing time. If requested, we can estimate the cost of the print in advance.
My print didn’t come out the way I’d hoped it would. Do I have to pay for it?
Our 3D printing service is designed as a hobby-level experience. 3D prints are affected by a number of variables and are not guaranteed to come out as intended. The library does not refund printing fees for completed items that do not come out as intended.
How long will it take to complete my 3D print?
3D printing requests can take up to a week to complete. Library staff will contact you as soon as your print is finished. If a 3D print is not picked up after 30 days, it becomes the Library’s property and may be discarded, however, the fee will stay on your account.
What do I need to know about multi-color 3D printing?
Patrons may submit up to 5 multi-color 3D print requests per month.
Due to excess filament waste in the multi-color 3D printing process, there is a maximum of 100 grams of total filament used per multi-color 3D print request. If your design will use more than 100 grams of filament, you will be asked to modify and resubmit your design.
Please prepare multi-color 3D design files with desired colors before submitting. Library staff will not alter the colors of submitted files.
